Earrings

A while back Emma decided to be potty trained if she could have earrings. Because she got to get them, so did Hannah sans her piggy bank. While we were in St. George for my class reunion we took the girls over to Wal-mart to get them pierced. Emma went first and was really pretty chill about the whole thing. After they punched the earrings in she buried her head in my shoulder and cried for a few minutes. Hannah got to go second and did really well. She picked out a pair of flower earrings and was so excited and nervous. She gave the most surprised look ever. After it was done we realized that the one girl totally missed the mark on Emma's ear and we would have to get it done AGAIN. Poor thing. We waited over the weekend and then took her to our local Wal-Mart and they didn't have any in stock, so we had to wait almost two weeks before we were able to get it re-pierced. She didn't even bat an eye when they remarked it and did it again. She was amazing. Every time either one of them complained about twisting them or cleaning them I reminded them that they made the choice to have them. Emma doesn't like me to change her's so she keeps her studs in full-time, but Hannah likes to have me change them to match her outfits. They really want Alice to get her's done, but I think it will be a long time before I do that again.

Oh my gosh, Hannah looks huge there compared to her picture on your side bar. How old is she? That is cool that they made the choice. My husband feels that our little girl has to be old enough to ask for pierced ears. It's probably smart.
