The boys went snowmobiling to the cabin and the girls had to remain behind. To make the girls feel like they weren't being left out, we spent the day sequestered in our tower, four princesses taking care of business.
It's kind of funny when your seven year old guffaws at cleaning because "princesses have servants to clean for them Mom." So that's where our story began. You see, we were royal princess and their queen mother locked away in a tower. No one could come in so we were forced to take care of ourselves. We magically cleaned up the daily messes and cooked a feast of tuna sandwiches and salad with croutons. A magic potion was mixed up with some Sprite and a sprinkling of Strawberry jello and the pretty goblets were unearthed from their long banishment in the top cupboard and washed to add that special touch. The princesses then retreated to the royal spa while the youngest got her beauty sleep. There they received a pedicure, manicure and had their hair beautifully done. To top it all off they even got sparkles on their cheeks and mascara on those beautiful lashes. The rest of the day was spent playing and watching movies and ended when our prince charming's came home from a day in the cold and broke the spell surrounding the tower. Alas, we never did get to take our magic carpet ride to town for food from the market, but that's okay, because sometimes being home is all you really need.
Oh, and Alice's favorite place to be right know is my dishwasher. If it's down, she's in it.
