Bearing wall in the basement, and One sleepy boy

The walls for the garage.
The weekend of April 18th we put up the bearing wall in the basement. It took the whole day making sure everything was in place, and each board cut to make the floor level. Then they put the whole thing together and called some friends. This was one massive wall.
Here's Larry and Spencer. Yeah, Spencer had just had shoulder surgery, but he was still able to lift more with one arm then me with both.
Then you ha Nyle and Garrett, and then Cameron and I. With a little heave-hoe, we got it up and secured in place.

Our friend Nyle stayed after everyone left and helped us start to put on some of the floor joises. and build the walls where the stairs are going. While we were working we looked down to find this

Poor James was pooped and totally wiped out and fell asleep in the camp chair.

The only real bummer of the day was when we realized that we had started to put the joist's on two foot center's instead of 16's. Luckily we had only nailed on 6.
