Our concrete crew came over the Monday after we dug our hole and started getting things ready to pour. The funniest thing ever? Although 3, yes Three, engineers measured the and marked the hole, it ended up being two feet too small. Cameron was not thrilled. We had an emergency digging Monday afternoon. Luckily we live in a small town and there are quite a few people who own backhoes to call. Thank you Charlie for the save.
Cameron measuring and making sure everything is level the night before.
They poured our floor on March 24th. I took the kids over and we sat on the East side mound of dirt to watch the action. It was a little chilly, so we had to scrounge up some blankets from the car. They had this huge concrete pumper truck that they cement trucks would dump their load in and it would pump it out on the ground. They were able to move it all over the floor and made things go so fast.
Here they are just starting the floor.
Power Screeding(?) the floor to get the bubbles out and make it smooth.
Still going.
Cameron came over on his lunch break (which extended till an hour or two later) and the kids climbed down in the hole with him to get a closer look.
